CST Land Developers Open Luxury New Luxury Apartment Development at Sonoma Ranch Golf Course Community in New Mexico

CST Land Developers, LLC, owned by attorneys Tom Delahaye, Chris Coffin and Stan Baudin of Plaquemine, Louisiana held a grand opening of the recently completed new luxury apartment development on October 18, 2013 for the Sonoma Palms Apartments, located in the Sonoma Ranch Golf Course Community in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The new apartment development is comprised of 192- apartments, including 44 one-bedrooms, 140 two-bedroom, and 8 three-bedroom residences. A ribbon cutting and reception was held at the 12- acre, $25 million luxury apartment complex with numerous dignitaries and representatives of  CST Land Developers. Other investors are Baton Rouge, Louisiana attorneys Philip Bohrer and Scott Earl Brady.

The HUD guaranteed permanent financing for the apartments was provided by Johnson Capital of Dallas, Texas.  Additional  funding was provided by Anthem Bank and Citizen’s Bank, both of Plaquemine.

ICI Construction Company of Dallas, Texas, constructed the new development.  ICI has constructed two apartment developments for CST Land Developers during the last four years. They are located in East Baton Rouge and  Livingston parishes. The Plaquemine firm says that Sonoma Ranch has enough property to complete a second phase of the apartments at a later date.

Entasis Design Architects, PLLC, of Concord, North Carolina was awarded the contract for the two-story, 24-building “Southwest” style apartment complex.

According to Delahaye,  “This new development is part of CST Land Developers’ overall strategic plan to expand its future development outside of Louisiana. We have been able to very successfully master HUD financing and will continue to use this model for new ventures into the future,” added Delahaye.   With this addition to its portfolio, CST Land Developers will have 700 apartment units with plans to more than double that number in the next 3 to 5 years.

“We have had an excellent demand for these high-quality apartments and have priced them to compete in this resort community. The rates range from $915 to $1,260 per month,” said Delahaye.  A public elementary school, called Sonoma Ranch Elementary, is located across the street from the new apartment site.

Sonoma Ranch Golf Course Community is a 2,000 acre award-winning development, which includes an 18-hole public course. It is comprised of three unique residential developments and has been awarded numerous real estate awards for home design and marketing. Las Cruses and two other cities in New Mexico were recently cited by the Wall Street Journal as one of the most attractive retirement communities, next to the highly sought after and more expensive Sonoma, Arizona.  The developments are located in the Mesilla Valley, flanked by the Oregon Mountains and the Rio Grande.

Sonoma Ranch Golf Course Community is located at 1274 Golf Club Road,  Las Cruces, New Mexico, which is approximately 40 miles from El Paso, Texas.
